Log In and Email Questions


1. What are the HamNet emails? 

HamNet emails sent to subscribers and residents of the Hamlet. MHCA sends emails only when MHCA has relevant and time sensitive community information to share, such as announcing the date of the annual McLean Hamlet picnic, notifying residents of a lost dog; or telling residents of an upcoming Mclean event. Typically, MHCA sends about one email per week. 


2. How can I receive HamNet emails? 

From the homepage, select "Join/Renew MHCA". You will be prompted to enter your email address and complete your profile. Upon completion, you will added to the HamNet email list. 


3. How do I log into the website? 

If you receive the HamNet emails, then an account has been created for you using the same email address that receives HamNet emails. At the home page, enter your email and select "Forget Password". At the next screen, enter your email address. Within a couple of minutes, you will receive an email with a link to reset your password -- click on the link and enter a new password.


4. How do I update my Hamlet Directory info, such as name, phone number and email address? 

  1. Log into the Hamlet website (see #3 above).
  2. Click on the View Profile" link below your name in the upper left corner.
  3. Select EDIT PROFILE as shown in the picture
  4. Edit your information. 
  5. Click "SAVE" at the bottom of the screen to save your changes. This profile info will be used in the Hamlet printed directory distributed annually. 


5. I don't want my contact info (name, phone number, address) to appear in the Hamlet directory - how do I hide my contact info? 


To change privacy settings: 

  1. Log into your MHCA account (see question #3 above for instructions on how to log in)
  2. Click the View profile link to view the member profile in the upper left hand corner of the page.
  3. Click the Privacy link.
  4. Click the Edit profile button to enter edit mode and select who can see your information: Anybody, Members or Nobody. If you select "Nobody" the info selected will be excluded from the Hamlet Directory. As of 2016-2017, the Hamlet directory contains only the name, address, phone and email fields. Save your entry by clicking on SAVE at the bottom of the screen!


6. I received an email with Hamlet classified ads. Why can't I see the ads? 

The classified ads are available to all Hamlet residents, but residents must log into the website to see the ads. To protect residents, the classified ads and the online Hamlet resident directory require a user to log in to see the content. 


7. How do I unsubscribe from HamNet emails so that I no longer receive them? 

Open a recent HamNet email and look for and click on the "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the email to unsubscribe. Please be aware that, once you unsubscribe, you will not receive ANY HamNet emails.
